Celebrating 46 years in ministry
This year… look to sing your song in the night and if He sings over you…
then sing together in intimacy.
Look for the lyric in the midst of all the noise.
Look for your harmony as you sing with grace in His heart’s melody.
If you worship… He will come… He “inhabits” the praise of His people.

GIVE US THIS DAY – OUR DAILY BREAD:
“The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the Lord of hosts musters the host of the battle.”
Isaiah 13:4
A beautiful and warm sunny Saturday in North Carolina.
Today I am aware of those who are called to do something special… important… perhaps extraordinary. Perhaps life changing. There are some who just starting out in a called journey. And after the first day – you have learned many things about what you are set out to accomplish.
In the book of Joshua it was an entrance into the promise land and the great obstacle that stood in the way was the city of Jericho. An old established city with a great and army that fortified seemingly impenetrable walls. A city four-square… it was approximately 3.1 miles to go completely around the city. Outer walls: Built on a sloped earthen embankment, this defensive mudbrick wall was about 6 feet thick and stood 20 to 26 feet high, resting on a stone retaining wall that was 12 to 15 feet high. The inner walls: At the crest of the embankment, an even more substantial inner mudbrick wall was built, measuring approximately 12 feet thick and also 20 to 26 feet high.
Quite impossible? But with God – all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
I want to start with just a simple verse in Joshua 6:14 It was a time of “covenant” or “promise.” It was given of God. It was promised even before God laid out the instructions for conquer. (Joshua 6:2)
Before I give you this word and the practical application of how YOU can defeat an enemy and an obstacle in your way, in the next few days, I want to preface it with a bit of background information.
The promised land was promised while the children of Israel were still in Egypt. The leader was a murderer. A man who was called a “bloody husband” by his wife. A man born into royalty and entitlement. He became a wanderer and nomad before God came and spoke to him in a burning bush.
Moses.
He led the children of Israel out of Egypt through many miracles including a Red Sea that took down the leader and army of a powerful nation. He saw where God had passed. He heard the audible voice of God. In Exodus 33:11 it says that God spoke to Moses face to face as a man would speak to his friend.
Yet, for all of this – Moses was not allowed to lead the children of Israel into the promised land because of one “seemingly little” indiscretion. Numbers 20 gives you the whole story, but the scripture that pronounces sentence on Moses is found in Numbers 20:12 – “And the Lord spoke unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.”
Simply stated, God told Moses to “SPEAK” to the rock so that the water would come forth to a thirsty people.
Instead of “speaking” to the rock, Moses, a man at times of impetuous temper took his rod and smote the rock twice. And the water came, but it was not the way God wanted it. He wanted to show them another miracle and Moses prevented that from happening.
You see… the nation was about to go against another rock that stood in the way of God’s promised land. A nation that carried the ancestry of Jesus. A place that would eventually be the place where the blood was shed for all of mankind. So, yeah… it was that important to follow directions.
There was no man who could himself or his friends have enough “sticks” to beat against walls to bring them down. They would come down as God said in Joshua 6:5 “…all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat.”
From the obtaining of the promise – it wasn’t to be by might, or by power – but by his spirit. (Zechariah 4:6) The enemy could not be defeated by the power or the might or the anger of man. It was to be a spoken word ministry. By words God created everything.
He wanted his leaders to lead with the word of God. Do what God says. Speak what He says. It was to be a reminder and a new beginning – coming into a land that was once created by a word. Now again – entered into by a shout; the voice of man as the vocal instrument of God. A spoken word ministry. A spoken word salvation. A spoken word warfare.
Now we can go back into the actual plan and the journey and the first steps into the place of promise. Toward the delivering of the child whose womb would carry the seed of salvation. The birth of Jesus. The death of Jesus. And once again – entering a new promise delivered through a Word.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. – John 14:2

OUR NATION WAS CALLED TO PRAY on May 17th – Blow the Trumpet in Zion!
O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” II Chronicles 20:12
And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. – II Kings 6:16-17

Where are we in the scheme of things?
2026 in the Gregorian Calendar – or for a more true look at where we are in time, the current year in the Jewish (Hebrew) calendar is 5786. This year began at sunset on October 2, 2025, and will end at sunset on September 11, 2026, when the year 5787 begins, according to Hebcal.com
2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
We’re at a key moment of transition as we transition the Hebrew year of 5787! We’re moving out of the old and into the new.
Many people don’t pay attention to the Hebrew calendar. But, I believe the Hebrew calendar is God’s calendar.
Now, I don’t often delve into Hebrew numerics, but I believe it’s important to understand the Hebrew meaning of the numbers ‘5786’.
Interpreting Hebrew numbers isn’t an exact science. However, each Hebrew number has a range of possible meanings that can help us understand the potential prophetic meaning behind this coming Hebrew New Year!
Hebrew Meaning of the Number ‘5786’
Here are some of the meanings behind the Hebrew numbers ‘5786’:
-
- The Year of “Vav” (Connector): 5786 is seen as a year for connecting Heaven to Earth, focusing on divine alignment, strategic partnerships, and bridging the gap between spiritual truths and earthly reality.
- “Do It Again” God Year: A theme of restoration and repetition, with expectations that God will turn past struggles, barrenness, and losses into opportunities for fruitfulness and new beginnings
.
- The Sword of Warfare & Shift: A year where spiritual warfare is prevalent, but also a time for a “great shift” that marks a seven-year reformation season.
- Divine Unveiling & Momentum: A period for unleashing things that have been restrained and seeing a “global awakening” with unprecedented power.
- The Power of the Mouth (Peh): As part of the decade of the 80s (5780-5789), 5786 emphasizes decreeing, proclaiming, and using words to shift atmospheres.
- Transformation & Alignment: A time of “divine, shaking” where God is reevaluating systems, and people are called to align with Kingdom purposes.

I believe this is the heart of our ministry… I pray it always remains as such:
Hebrew Year 5786 … A Year of NEW BEGINNINGS
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. ~Jeremiah 33:6
The mountains let us know that they came before us…
And they knew we were coming.
If we don’t praise God, these very rocks will cry out.
We are a full-gospel, Spirit-filled ministry… located somewhere between the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean in North Carolina.
We are a broken ministry – Matthew 21:44 “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”
Streetfire Ministries was incorporated in 1987 in Iowa and was transferred to a Michigan based corporation in May of 2009. In 2017, God had put on our hearts to move to the edge of the prairie and transferred our corporation to Iowa where the corporation was founded. The vision is to be a part of an international spiritual medical center that is 24/7 – ministering to the hearts, souls, minds and bodies of those in need.
UPDATE: In 2024 the ministry moved to where Mark was learning again to be a tentmaker as well as an encouragement to those around him.
This ministry was birthed in a prayer room in Minneapolis in 1980. It has been a venue that allows me to reach out to those in need of a place to gather and a local ministry within the parameters of a church. It also is a dual-role ministry that affords me the challenge of finding secular work outside of the ministry where I am able to make a difference in the lives of those who are unchurched in the community I am planted in.
We strive to be a ministry that is not motivated or dictated by monetary means. We pray that you will be welcomed and ministered to – regardless of your income, your race or your spiritual condition.
There will be no Christian infomercials or pleas for money – no hidden agendas – Freely we’ve received and freely will we give.
You will never hear us pleading for your donation, or as the Bible says… “begging bread”.We are seeking to be a house of prayer for all nations as read recently publically by President Donald J. Trump from the oval office.
We stand upon a cornerstone scripture found in II Chronicles 7:14-16…
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.”
